Ashley Lefrak was born in Virginia. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, MUTHA Magazine, Real Simple, and other publications. 

Ashley studied Comparative Literature at Princeton University where she translated the short fiction of Elena Garro. Afterward, she worked for the photographer Sally Mann and received an MFA from Yale University. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, a painter, and three children. She is currently working on a book.
