a delayed reaction to a surprising or significant situation after an initial failure to notice anything unusual.

In these photographs, taken in and around the urban, suburban, and rural places I have lived, the through line is no greater or less than to look and see. There are no statements being made, rather the unifying principle is an ongoing effort to be open enough to detect the sometimes strange or sad, occasionally humorous or majestic, and often times surprising statements of my surroundings.
